{"id":22783,"date":"2022-09-20T09:49:50","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shipip.com\/?p=22783"},"modified":"2022-09-20T09:49:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:49:50","slug":"jan-de-nuls-jackup-installation-newbuild-hit-by-typhoon-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/developmenttask.com\/ShipIpLtd\/jan-de-nuls-jackup-installation-newbuild-hit-by-typhoon-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Jan De Nul\u2019s jackup installation newbuild hit by typhoon in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Belgian offshore contractor Jan De Nul said that its jackup installation newbuild\u00a0<span class=\"mt_tooltip\" data-mturl=\"\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:7144000\/mmsi:253813000\/vessel:7144000\" data-info=\"VOLTAIRE [LU]\" data-photourl=\"https:\/\/photos.marinetraffic.com\/ais\/showphoto.aspx?shipid=7144000\" data-assetname=\"9899284\" data-assettype=\"IMO number\">Voltaire<\/span>\u00a0had suffered minor damage after being hit by typhoon Muifa at COSCO Shipping Shipyard in Nantong, China.<\/p>\n<p>The eye of the typhoon passed over the shipyard during the night of September 14 to 15, causing the vessel to come loose from its moorings.<\/p>\n<p>The company said that the incident caused no injuries, while the first sight assessments have shown limited damage to certain parts of the crane and the helideck.<\/p>\n<p>The vessel has been safely moored back in the shipyard and further assessments are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The Voltaire is said to be as large as the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
