{"id":22406,"date":"2022-09-14T12:35:13","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T12:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shipip.com\/?p=22406"},"modified":"2022-09-14T12:35:13","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T12:35:13","slug":"international-seaways-ceo-zabrocky-upbeat-on-tanker-market-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/developmenttask.com\/ShipIpLtd\/international-seaways-ceo-zabrocky-upbeat-on-tanker-market-outlook\/","title":{"rendered":"International Seaways CEO Zabrocky upbeat on tanker market outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the third in a series of interviews ahead of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3AA30KI\" rel=\"noopener\">Saudi Maritime\u00a0Congress<\/a>\u00a0Zabrocky speaks about prospects for the tanker market and the Middle East region.<\/p>\n<p>Zabrocky told\u00a0<em>Seatrade Maritime News<\/em>\u00a0that tanker markets had been improving steadily throughout 2022 and continued to do so. \u201cThe world is returning to a busier pace of activity as we navigate the third year of Covid-19 and its impacts. This positive growth bodes well for our tanker business,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Improved markets were reflected in the NYSE-listed shipowner\u2019s second quarter results with it reporting a net income of $69m compared to a net loss of $18.8m in the corresponding quarter in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The company completed what Zabrocky describes as a \u201ctransformational merger\u201d with Diamond S Shipping in July last year. The merger tripled the size of International Seaways\u2019 fleet and a diversified its portfolio with the addition of over 40 products. International\u00a0Seaways fleet comprises crude tankers \u2013 covering VLCC, Suezmaxes and Aframaxes, and LR1, LR2, and MR product tankers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt International Seaways, our tankers are transporting both crude and products throughout the Middle East. The region is a key supplier of oil for the world markets.
